Personal Insights

On Websites

I love designing websites. I’ve been making websites since I was 12 and have yet to get bored. The technology is always changing and I find that exciting.

On Interaction Design

Front end design is not only about graphics and code. I find the work that comes before the most interesting. When designing an interface, I like to ask myself these questions: What are the goals of my client? What are the goals of their users? Are the users able to achieve their goals easily when interacting with the interface? Asking these questions are what differentiates a website designer from an interaction designer.

On Drawing

When I was little, I wanted to be a doctor. Once I lost interest in that I wanted to be an artist. This ambition has never faded. However, I had little talent with traditional paints – I made far too many mistakes. It is thanks to computer software that I can pursue art as a career. Thank goodness for the undo button!
